Office & Accounts Team Administration Apprentice

We are looking for a keen accounts/administration apprentice who wants to start building their career with us. This is a great opportunity to develop excellent skills and gain experience within the construction industry.

We have a busy, friendly head office where we deal with Accounts, Contracts, Site Management, Payroll, Subcontractors, Purchasing and all the administration these departments need. We are looking for a really keen accounts/administration apprentice who will have the opportunity to learn about different departments and their relationship within the business.

To start with, duties will include but not be limited to:

Reception duties to include answering the phone, greeting visitors, offering refreshments

Inputting invoices on to the accounts systems


Copying and scanning

Monitoring stationery supplies and preparing orders

Opening of the post and franking outgoing post ready for collection

Ad-hoc duties as they arise

Using Excel and Word

37.5 hours Monday – Friday, including term time College day release in Bournemouth

Requirements and prospects – Desired skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accurate keyboard skills

Good communication skills, written and verbal

Desired qualifications

Minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above or equivalent including English and maths.

Future prospects

Prospect of progression to a higher level qualification and to progress within the business. Prospect of a permanent position for the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

NOTE: If your application is successful, you must attend an initial interview with Bournemouth & Poole College before your details are put forward to this employer. This will be arranged by an invitation from The College. This is not an interview for the job.

Training provider

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration, Functional Skills in maths, English and IT Level 1, and Employers Rights and Responsibilities. One day a week at College term time for six months of the 12 month course.

You will receive in-house training on the job.
